I started teaching at East Central in 1993 as a 4th Grade teacher. After teaching 4th grade for 3 years, I moved up a grade level to 5th for 23 years, then to 6th grade for 3 years, back to 4th grade, and now 2 years in the High School!
This is my 26th year of being involved in the fastpitch softball program. I also coached JH basketball for 6 seasons and wrestling through the Hinckley/Finlayson-Pine City- East Central Co-op for 4 years. I also do the announcing for the home football games and run the scoreboard at a variety of
extra curricular events.
I grew up in the Apple Valley/Rosemount area. As a kid I played a variety of
sports, but spent most of my time playing baseball, lifting weights, and wrestling.
I married Becky in 1983 and have one daughter, Devika, who graduated in 2013 from East Central. Becky is a fine arts painter and Devika graduated from CSS
with a degree in Elementary Education and is teaching 6th Grade and coaching softball in Hinckley. In my spare
time I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, cutting wood and playing cards and games with my family.
We have also been campground hosts in Glacier National Park during summer breaks. We helped people safely enjoy the National Park and went hiking ourselves on our days off.
A couple of summers ago we paddled through Gunflint Lake, into Magnetic
Lake , and then hiked a bit to get to this spot. (Canadian Border in the wilderness)
