I’ll be Gnome for Christmas 

Join us for a fun evening of holiday season gnome making. We will create wooden gnomes (porch leaner style) that can be displayed inside or outside. All materials are provided, just bring your creativity.  Wear clothing that can get messy. Individuals may create more than one gnome. 

 

Project completed in one session.

 

Ages: Adults and students in grades 6 and up.

 

Price per gnome: $40 for a large gnome (1"x12"x4-5') or $25 for a small gnome (1"x12"x 2.5-3')

PAINTING WITH PEG- December Stocking

NEW DATE (MONDAY) and TIME (5:30-7:00)

One 11 x 14 canvas with instruction by the teacher. All supplies provided.  The painting will be completed in one session, so you will be able to take it home, ready to hang. 

Grab your friend, son/daughter, spouse or friend for an evening of fun. Please note: EC school may require face masks as the year goes on, if this happens face masks will be required for the class. Thank you for your cooperation.

YOGA 2022 

Whether you're an absolute beginner or have some yoga skills already, this level one class will help you get more flexible and build strength, with a big emphasis on de-stressing your day. You'll learn some foundational yoga sequences, and all poses will offer modifications so you can progress at your own speed. Sign up for a 6-week series or just drop in!

 

NOTE: Although we’re hoping this class can run all six weeks, we all know by now that things can get unpredictable. If that happens, we’ll adjust!

 

Sessions will run six weeks and be held on Tuesdays in the Media Center.
Session 1: January 11, 18, 25: February 1, 8, 15----5:00-6:00 (NEW TIME)
Session 2: Feb. 22; March 1, 8, 15, 22; April 5---Time will be either 5-6 or 5:30-6:30*
Session 3: April 12, 19, 26; May 3, 10, 17--Time will be either 5-6 or 5:30-6:30*

*We are experimenting with the 5:00-6:00 time for session 1. Depending on how the time works it could change back to 5:30-6:30 for session 2.

Summer 2022 Driver Education Important Information and Dates

This class will be held at the same time as summer school. Students will be able to ride the bus to and from school and eat free breakfast and lunch (if offered again in 2022).

IF YOU THINK YOUR CHILD WILL NEED TO MAKE UP CREDIT AND ATTEND SUMMER SCHOOL - Please do not register for this class.

WHAT: Driver’s Education and Behind the Wheel

WHERE: At East Central High School room TBA

INSTRUCTOR: Dwaine Palmer (classroom and behind the wheel)

DATES: June 13-16 (M-TH), June 20-24 (M-TH) and June 27-28 from 8:45 am - 11:45 am.

The state requires 30 hours of classroom work. YOU CANNOT MISS A CLASS AND MEET THE STATE REQUIREMENT - IF YOU KNOW YOU CANNOT MAKE ALL THE DATES - PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER.

AGE REQUIREMENT: Students need to be 15 years of age by June 1, 2022 to take the class.

COST: $320.00

$120.00 is due at registration, balance paid in full by June 27.

The blue card will not be issued until paid in full (So if your child does not turn 16 for a bit, you can wait to pay until the need to set up the behind the wheel time).

PARENT CLASS: Monday, June 27 from 6:00-7:30 in the boardroom..

Learn To Swim (LTS) Class Descriptions 

All WSI are Red Cross certified

LTS Level 1 (age 6 and up): Introduction to Water Skills Learn Basic water safety rules; how to use a life jacket; submerge mouth, nose and eyes; open eyes underwater and pick up a submerged object; swim on front and back using arm and leg actions; exhale underwater; float on front and back .

 

LTS Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Submerge entire head, glide on the front and back, tread water using arm and leg motions; bob in water, do a jellyfish float; swim using combined stroke on front and back

 

LTS Level 3: Stroke Development

Perform a reaching assist, submerge and retrieve an object, glide on front and back, back and front crawl, kneeling or standing dive; breathe side to side in horizontal position; survival float, back float; butterfly kick and body motion


LTS Level 4—Stroke Improvement

Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills. • Headfirst entries from the side in compact and stride positions • Swim under water • Feet first surface dive • Survival swimming • Front crawl and backstroke open turns • Tread water using 2 different kicks • Front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly • Flutter and dolphin kicks on back


Preschool Level 2 – Learn Primary Skills (3-4 years) Learn to float without support and recover to a vertical position. Work on front and back glides.COVID PROTOCOL REQUIRES PARENTS BE IN THE POOL WITH THEIR CHILD.


2021-22 YOUTH BASKETBALL CHEER- the registration deadline was 11/24/21.

Students will practice new cheers and chants, jump technique, and stunts.  For beginners and students with a cheer history.

Grades: Students in grades K-6

Cost: $15/student (an additional $15 for a uniform shirt if it is needed) 

Practices: January 4, 11, 25, February 1

Practice Times: 3:20-5:00 p.m. in the elementary lunch room

Games Dates: January 14 (Boys vs. HF), January 18 (Girls vs. PC), January 24 (Boys vs. Wrensall), February 4 (Girls vs. HF), and February 8 (Boys vs. RC)

Game Times: We will cheer at the JV games until halftime.  Please be ready and at the school by 5:30 on game days.

End of Season Party: February 15 in the elementary lunch room

Uniform: Black leggings and a cheer shirt (same as cheer camp and football)


NEXT LEVEL SWIMMING JANUARY

2021-22 East Central Activities Fee

The Activities fee is required to play in all sports offered at the 7th - 12 grade level at East Central, this includes the following: Fall Sports: Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Cheer Winter Sports: Basketball, Cheer, Hockey, One Act Spring Sports: Track, Baseball, Softball, Trap Shooting, Golf.

EAST CENTRAL STUDENT FEES

East Central has set the activities fee for all sports except trap shooting AND hockey as follows: $50.00/athlete per sport.

Hockey is $150.00/student. 

Trap Shooting is $105.00/student. (Plus an additional 30.00 fee paid to the Clay Pigeon Association. Your coach will contact you on the steps needed to enroll in this and the deadline to do so). 

If the athlete participates in two sports, the third sport is free. (TRAP SHOOTING AND HOCKEY DO NOT COUNT AS A FREE SPORT).

HARVEST CHRISTIAN STUDENTS (Grades 9-12) - $350.00

Grades 9-12 the fee is $350.00 per sport. The agreements between the EC and Harvest Christian stated the Harvest Christian SCHOOL would pay $300.00 of the fee and the Harvest Christian PARENTS would pay the additional $50.00.  

 

Grades 7-8 (Junior High). This fee is $50.00/student per sport. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

You may now pay online with a card through Community Education.

NEW(2020-21): There is NOW AN ACH option as well for those who want to use their checking account.

ATHLETIC FEE IS DUE PRIOR TO THE FIRST PRACTICE OF THE SEASON - Students are unable to participate in any games until the fee has been received.

Be sure you also have your MSHSL form filled out for the year and your athlete's physical is up to date.
