PARENT/PLAYER EXPECTATIONS

Coach Pitch and TBall programming is coordinated by a group of dedicated volunteers who are excited to share their passion for the sport with others.  It is important for us to be able to maintain our volunteers and in return sustain summer baseball.  It is our goal as volunteer coaches to provide a fun and safe learning environment for our players to learn the fundamentals of baseball in hopes of building a lifelong love for the sport!  This is a short amount of time to cover many necessary skills so we need to make the most of our time together.  By signing this form, you are agreeing that you understand the expectations listed below:

Parents are not allowed in the dugout.  The dugout space is small and crowded.

Please avoid calling out to your child when practicing.  It becomes a distraction. Kids are learning safety as a big part of the sport.  Kids can get seriously injured when they take their eyes off the ball or start swinging when others are near.  We encourage you to cheer your child on during scrimmage time.

Bad behaviors will not be tolerated.  This includes but is not limited to defiance to the coach, being unsafe with baseball equipment, destruction of equipment, name calling, and poor sportsmanship. Coaches will address the issue and will have the discretion to remove a player from practice should the behavior continue.

Parents will create a supportive environment for all players regardless of other children’s skill levels. Coaches are working hard to ensure that all players are growing as a player and building a team for future play.
Thank you for your assistance in making summer rec and a space for learning, fun, and safety.

Welcome to the 2022 softball season!

Youth softball players and parents,

East Central Youth Softball will continue to participate in the East Central Rivers Youth Summer Softball program. This is a traveling softball program and a great opportunity for our area youth. There is no school provided transportation, and games are played in towns such as Milaca, Hinckley, Pine City, Isle, Oglivie, Braham, and Mora. Carpooling to games is common so please reach out if transportation is an issue. Typically we play each school twice so half of our games should be at our home fields. Games will start at 6pm.

This year we plan to have three teams.

10U is for players who are in 3rd & 4th Grade (2021/2022 school year). If your player turns 11 before 5/31/22 they should register for the 12U team.

12U is for players who are in 5th & 6th Grade (2021/2022 school year). If your player turns 13 before 5/31/22 they should register for the 14U team.
14U is for players who are in 7th & 8th Grade (2021/2022 school year). If your player turns 15 before 5/31/22 they will not be eligible to play.

We hope to begin practice in late April (weather permitting) and we will communicate directly with parents how that will look as the time gets closer. Spring schedules are very tight with limited fields and possible weather. We would intend to have two practices per week beginning at 5:30pm.

Games will start at the end of May and wrap up with an end of season tournament in mid July. In the past all games have been on Tuesday or Thursday evenings, although that is subject to change after the league meeting in late spring

Fees

$70 per player (for first family member) which includes a jersey and a hat.

$60 for each additional player from the same family.

$60 if your player has a jersey from last year that will still work for this season.

Players will be expected to wear cleats, gray or black pants, and provide their own glove. Our shirts will be the same as last year so if yours still fits you don’t need to order another one. We will hopefully be ordering tanks also that we can wear on the really hot days.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Please register by 3:00 pm on MAY 15!!

You can send registration forms back to the school or register and pay online at: https://eastcentral.ce.eleyo.com/

Please make checks out to: East Central

Thank you and we look forward to a season of fun, learning, and teamwork!

Coaches are TBD. Please let us know if you are interested in being a coach.
