Welcome to East Central Elementary School! We invite you to discover our wonderful learning community located in Finlayson, Minnesota. East Central is a PreK-6 school with approximately 400 students.
Our staff is committed to developing the whole child – social, emotional and academic child. Our talented and dedicated staff is highly trained to meet the differentiated needs of students. We encourage parents to be actively involved in our school and their child's education. There are many opportunities for involvement and would love for you to join our PTO.
East Central has many has a variety of programs that your child can partake in throughout the school year. The community education program offers after school arts & crafts, cooking classes and sports. The elementary has an afterschool program, Kids Club welcome to all students. Kids Club is offered two times a week, Tuesday and Thursdays 3:30-5:00 pm at no cost.

Education: I graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from Mankato State University in Mankato, MN. I received a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction K-12 from St. Thomas University, St. Paul, MN. I completed my Principal Licensure from University of Minnesota Duluth.
Experience: I taught Kindergarten in Floral City Florida for 2 years after graduating from Mankato State. In 1992 I started here at East Central Elementary as a Kindergarten teacher. I have taught Kindergarten, Third grade and Title I throughout my years here and was also the Curriculum/Title I coordinator. This is my 12th year as Elementary principal and I absolutely love my job!
I am married (Eric) and have two children, Sam and Addie. We have two spoiled cats named Chewy & Vinny and chickens!. I spend my free time I like camping. reading and spending time with friends and family. I also love to watch Hallmark movies.
