March 15th Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Governor Walz has signed an executive order closing all schools beginning on Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 27. This is meant as a community mitigation strategy in response to COVID-19. During this time school districts are asked to plan for extended closing into the spring. This means we will be making plans for distance learning with our students following spring break if/when Governor Walz extends the closing into April. Our distance learning plan will include learning expectations for students and the ability for students to receive breakfast and lunch. Please look for follow up communication from me in the days ahead regarding our distance learning plans with students.

School WILL be held Monday and Tuesday this week and we expect our students to attend. There will be no school beginning Wednesday and next week is spring break. If you have specific questions or concerns about your child’s attendance please contact Elementary Principal, Kris Chryst or High School Principal, Stefanie Youngberg.

I know this closing will cause many of our families significant hardships and inconvenience but we must band together to get through this unprecedented issue. Thank you for supporting our school district in this challenging and rapidly changing situation.

Sincerely,

ANDREW M. ALMOS
