Options and opportunities make the greatest upward changes in life. Educators and artists seek them, find them, make them, experience them, and offer them to others. Students are the greatest assets, the most clever puzzles, and treasures unto themselves. When adults offer options and opportunities to children, with guidance, that’s where true education begins. The greatest option and opportunity an educator can offer, is to find ways for students to experience and tell their own life’s story. As students and artists grow, so does each story, one moment, one artwork at a time.
There is a crossroads where students bring experience and gain experience. One enhances the other. The more one brings to learning, the more one can gain from education. The teacher structures and guides as they remind students to bring as much to the table as the student is confident to share. We give them the stage, and they lead with their own choices, options, and opportunities.
