Sixth Grade Class Trip
On Tuesday, May 14th, the sixth grade class traveled to St. Paul and visited the Science Museum and Historic Fort Snelling.. At the Science Museum students saw mummies, a two-headed turtle, a giant bear, dinosaur skeletons, musical steps, and many other interesting things. A presentation about robots was presented by Museum staff. At Fort Snelling there was a film presentation about the history of Fort Snelling and a tour of the buildings. Some of the favorite things were the jail, the round tower, marching, a well pit, and slave quarters that Harriet and Dred Scott lived in at Fort Snelling.

Bus riding Privilege
The school board has recently reviewed our bus policy for the elementary and secondary school. There were a few minor changes, but the consequences for inappropriate bus conduct have gotten stricter and I will need to enforce these consequences starting Monday, December 3, 2012. At the student assembly on Friday, November 30, 2012 I reviewed the bus rules, responsibility of the student and consequences for misconduct to all students grades K-6.
The elementary has incorporated a new catch phrase for good bus behavior - "Do the High 5's on the Bus". This information sheet will be sent home with students on Friday 11/30, please review with you child. As the weather turns colder and road conditions change quickly it if very important to have students safe on our buses to and from school.
